Jared Verse has had an exceptional start to his NFL career as he has been named to two Pro Bowls in two seasons since being drafted in the first round by the Los Angeles Rams.

Verse has a unique skillset as an edge rusher, being able to mix his power with speed to win one-on-one matchups and get to the quarterback.

Another player with a similar skillset is Micah Parsons of the Green Bay Packers, who Verse appears to be building a relationship with.

Verse spent time with Parsons at each of the last two Pro Bowls and in an interview on “The Pivot” podcast, he revealed the two have plans to work out together this offseason:

“I’m a student of the game now. I think I’ve got to get a lot smarter. I was just talking to Micah two days ago. We were talking, he was like, ‘Bro, you are so fast, use your speed.’ Even Micah, he’s still recovering from his injury. He’s got a long way ahead of him. He said, ‘Come to Dallas.’ He trains in Dallas. He said, ‘Come to Dallas. Let’s work together.’ I’ve got to start working with these dudes who are at the level I want to get to. I haven’t spent enough time with Micah. I haven’t spent enough time with Will (Anderson). These dudes that dominate the league that I’m trying to get to that level. But they all work together. They’ll get and do workouts together. I’ve got to start getting into that.”

Working with someone like Parsons would definitely benefit Verse, who is trying to get better at finishing plays. Verse has been among the league leaders in pressures in each of his first two seasons but only has 12 total sacks.

If Verse can start getting more sacks and quarterback hits, then he will be in the mix for many Defensive Player of the Year awards moving forward, competing with Parsons and the other top pass rushers in the league.

Jared Verse takes blame for postseason loss

The Rams unfortunately fell short of their goal of winning a Super Bowl in 2025, losing to the eventual champion Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game.

L.A.’s defense struggled in that loss, and Verse took the blame for that.

“It was just me being completely, blatantly honest. I think it was a young mindset. I think it was my fault on the defense. I think it was a couple of our secondary. I feel like our linebackers were 100% locked in. I think it was our fault as a defense because we’re a younger defense. We have a lot of young dudes. We felt like we earned everything. We felt like ‘Oh yeah we got this sealed.’”
