The Los Angeles Rams’ offseason is well underway. With a number of changes already taking place with the coaching staff, the Rams have recently moved on to making some changes to their front office.

After former director of football operations Bruce Warwick left for Florida State’s football program, it has been reported that the Rams are promoting Sophie Luoto to the position. Luoto becomes one of very few women to reach this executive level in the NFL.

Because of her achievement, many Rams players have taken to Twitter to celebrate her big day. Jared Goff, Tyler Higbee and Johnny Hekker all shared their support and celebration of Luoto:

Although often times front office employees take a back seat to coaches and players, it is nice to see the Rams players supporting Luoto. It also indicates her involvement in everyday team life and how she is perceived amongst the players, which all appear to be positive.

According to her own LinkedIn page, Luoto has been behind the scenes for a number of football programs. She began at Cal Berkley as a recruiting assistant in 2013, then found herself as the Director of Recruiting Operations by 2014. From there, she joined the Rams’ front office after two more years with Berkley. Luoto has clearly earned this promotion and her hard work over the last few years has certainly paid off.

Of course, with an even better title comes even more work. Luoto will be in charge of a number of day-to-day activities, including travel, facilities operation, and some gameday operations.
