Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher currently has a decision to make as the Rams head into their Week 8 bye, as quarterback Case Keenum has struggled a bit during Los Angeles’ current three-game losing streak, and No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff is patiently waiting to get his turn to start.
Despite Keenum throwing four interceptions in a 17-10 Week 7 loss to the New York Giants, Fisher said that he plans to stick with Keenum as Goff is still not ready.
But with a full two weeks of practice before the team’s next game it seems like the perfect time to give Goff an opportunity to start, and Fisher may finally be realizing that.
According to Myles Simmons of therams.com, Goff took a lot of reps with the first team in Wednesday’s practice:
Rams off the practice field and are into the bye week. As expected, QB Jared Goff took plenty of reps with the first-team offense.

Fisher said that he liked what he saw out of Goff in practice, and Goff feels that he’s ready to start:
Fisher said he liked what he saw from 16 today. And Goff said he feels he’s ready for whenever his number’s called. More in #PracticeReport.

Keenum ranks 27th out of 32 qualified quarterbacks with a 77.5 passer rating. He has completed 62.5 percent of his passes for 1,708 yards, eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Only New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has more interceptions with 11.
During the preseason Goff showed signs of brilliance but also made some rookie mistakes, leading Fisher and the rest of the coaching staff to believe that he was not ready to start out of Training Camp.
He has had seven weeks of practice since then though, and with the team struggling at 3-4 it could be the perfect time to let Goff show what he can do.
