When Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke decided to leave his native Missouri in pursuit of greener pastures in California, he did so with the vision of building the brand into a household name. After hosting over 10,000 fans at the opening day of training camp, it is fair to say that the franchise is off to a good start.
Since the move, it has not taken players long to get accustomed to the Hollywood lifestyle nor has it taken long for the fans of Los Angeles to embrace their new team. According to Nate Bain of Rams, quarterback Jared Goff and running back Todd Gurley made the NFLPA’s Top 50 Player Sales list:
Goff made a strong impression on the list, coming in at No. 14. Given that Goff was the first overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, it should come as no surprise that he was able to sell so much merchandise. As a former Cal Bear and Bay Area native, Goff’s fan base did not have to stretch too far from where it originally started.
Meanwhile, despite being in his second year, it seems Gurley is on the cusp of superstardom should he successfully build on his spectacular rookie year. He is the next generation in a line of great Rams running backs and his number certainly backs that notion.
Although Goff and Gurley have landed in the NFLPA’s Top 50 Player Sales list, these young studs still have plenty to prove and they will do it on one of the NFL’s biggest stages in Los Angeles.
