A big reason why the Los Angeles Rams were able to make it all the way to the Super Bowl last season was because they were able to stay relatively healthy throughout the course of the season.

So far in 2019 though, that has not been the case as almost every key player on the team has missed time due to injury. The results have reflected that with the Rams sitting at 8-6 and on the outside looking into the postseason picture with just two weeks left in the regular season.

The Rams went into their Week 15 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys needing a win to stay in the mix, but unfortunately, they put up one of their most disappointing performances of the season in a 44-21 loss. To make matters worse, the team also did not come away injury-free.

Rams head coach Sean McVay revealed that cornerback Troy Hill and kicker Greg Zuerlein both went down with injuries, which will be something to monitor throughout the week leading up to the Week 16 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

Additionally, McVay revealed that Jared Goff hurt his thumb, although it is not believed to be that serious, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

Quarterback Jared Goff suffered a right thumb contusion on Sunday, and McVay said he believed it occurred as a result of hitting left tackle Andrew Whitworth‘s helmet while finishing the throw which resulted in an interception. McVay said Goff is “feeling good” after having it checked out today.

While it seems like Goff will be ready for the game against the 49ers, which will be a homecoming for the Bay Area native, it is still something to keep an eye on. If he is unable to go, Blake Bortles would make his first start at quarterback as a member of the Rams.

Goff is having a bit of a down season compared to the last two, throwing for 3,996 yards with 17 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in 14 games.
