The Los Angeles Rams looked stagnant of offense for the first time in the 2017 NFL season against a stout Seattle Seahawks defense. However, newly-acquired wide receiver Sammy Watkins struggled once again to make an impact.

Despite being on the field for a majority of the offensive snaps, Watkins finished the day with zero catches on four targets. Although Watkins’ lack of involvement thus far is concerning, quarterback Jared Goff is confident that better days are ahead for the star wideout, according to Rich Hammond of the LA Daily News:

“Definitely want to try to get him more involved,” Goff said, “but by no means are we, or am I, going to change the approach, play in and play out. I’ll go through the reads and hopefully he gets more touches.”

Following his worst outing of the year, Watkins responded to former Rams legend Torry Holt’s concern with a cryptic tweet regarding his lack of targets. However, the wideout and head coach Sean McVay have since discussed the former’s comments and are ready to improve.

Fortunately, the only way to go now is up. Watkins has recorded just recorded only 14 receptions for 211 yards and two touchdowns this season. If Los Angeles is to get back on track, they will need to start giving their No. 1 pass-catcher some more looks.
