Rams News: Jared Goff Not Buying Into Sudden Hype Around Los Angeles

The immaculate turnaround of the Los Angeles Rams has undoubtedly been the biggest surprise of the 2017 NFL season. Head coach Sean McVay has transformed the Rams offense into a well-oiled machine and quarterback Jared Goff is the one driving.

After being taken with the No.1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Goff was already labeled a bust after a disastrous rookie campaign. Needless to say, the times have changed for the former Cal Bear. According to Rich Hammond of the O.C. Register, Goff still is not ready to accept all the praises just yet:

In this league, it’s so week to week. You’re good one week and you’re bad the next week. We were the worst team ever last year, and now everyone loves us. So no, it doesn’t make any difference to us.”

Goff’s hesitance is certainly understandable considering all the scathing criticism he took last year while suffering under former head coach Jeff Fisher’s lackluster offensive scheme. Suddenly, those same people are now lauding him for how well he has performed under a competent coach.

That said, the Rams young star will need to continue playing at a high level if they are to stay atop the NFC West. They face solid tests in the coming weeks with matchups versus the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings.
