The Los Angeles Rams managed to fight off an early surge by the Arizona Cardinals to claim their second victory in a row and a 2017 NFL season sweep their division rivals. The win put Los Angeles one step closer to not only claiming the NFC West, but it also sets up a primetime matchup against the high-powered Philadelphia Eagles.
As many are well aware, the promising, young quarterbacks of these two teams have quickly turned things around for their perspective franchises. Even Jared Goff could not help but admit his excitement for next week’s game, according to Rich Hammond of the O.C. Register:
“Obviously it will be fun to play against him,” Goff said of Wentz, “but I’m just more excited to play their team. We’re coming off a win now and we’re going to enjoy this one and get a chance to look at it again (Monday on tape). They’re a great team, and obviously one of the best in the league for a reason, and it will be a fun one at home.”
The Eagles are coming off a disappointing loss to the formidable Seattle Seahawks, which means there could potentially be a lot riding on this upcoming game. If the Rams win, it will inevitably move them ahead of Philadelphia in the playoff picture.
Meanwhile, Goff will be trying to prove Los Angeles made the right decision by essentially taking him over Carson Wentz. Needless to say, the latter has received much more praise thus far in their young careers.
