The Los Angeles Rams toppled their competition in the NFC West throughout the 2017 NFL season. Needless to say, quarterback Jared Goff is hoping to keep it that way for years to come.
However, things got much more interesting with Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins set to hit the market. Goff admitted that he would not like to see Cousins wound up as a member of the Arizona Cardinals during an appearance on PFT Live:
“I’m hoping he doesn’t,” Goff said. “He’s a hell of a player. I’m a big fan of his, big fan of what he’s done.”
Goff added that Cousins is one of the most underrated players in the NFL.
“He’s tremendous,” Goff said. “I don’t think he gets enough credit for what he’s done. Some of the throws he made [that] we see on film. You rewind it, you watch it again. It’s unbelievable.”
It is a bit surprising to see Goff is such a huge fan of Cousins’ play. However, it is for good reason.
Cousins is coming off is third straight 4,000-yard season since taking over as the starter in Washington. He also managed to get the better of the Rams with a 27-20 victory in Week 2 this season.
The Cardinals boasted a formidable squad that was held back by their lackluster quarterback play throughout the year. That said, the addition of Cousins would surely kickstart any potential resurgence they hope to achieve next season.
