Heading into the 2022 season, the Los Angeles Rams look poised to defend their Super Bowl crown though they will need to stay healthy in order to do so.

The Rams have a good mix of veterans and young players, but any team is at the mercy of good health in the pursuit of a title. Los Angeles suffered their fair share of injuries during the 2021 season, but were able to get contributions from the depth pieces on their roster to get the job done.

With training camp officially here, the Rams look relatively healthy on paper though they did place four players on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. Most notably, Jalen Ramsey was one of the four players listed, via Greg Beacham of AP:

Ramsey actually played through most of the 2021 campaign with an AC joint sprain in each of his shoulders and elected to have surgery on one of them. He’s expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the 2022 season opener against the Buffalo Bills, but being placed on the PUP means he is most likely to miss the entirety of training camp.

Meanwhile, rookie running back Kyren Williams suffered a broken foot during spring workouts but he is also expected to return sometime during training camp. Travin Howard suffered a pulled groin while training, while Quentin Lake’s injury is unknown at this time.

Although the aforementioned players will miss time during training camp they are eligible to come off the PUP at any point. Hopefully their injuries heal quickly and they can rejoin their teammates sooner rather than later.
