Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey has been selected to the 2023 Pro Bowl games, the league announced on Monday.

Ramsey replaces Darius Slay, who will no longer participate in the Pro Bowl games with the Philadelphia Eagles advancing to the Super Bowl on Sunday. This is Ramsey’s sixth-consecutive Pro Bowl selection in his seventh NFL season.

The Rams superstar corner had another quality campaign in 2022. He tied his career-high with four interceptions, reaching that mark for the second consecutive year. He also reached career highs in tackles — 88 — and pass break-ups — 18 — while not missing a single game for the Rams.

He famously recorded the first two sacks of his illustrious NFL career. Additionally, Ramsey forced two fumbles and recovered one.

This season, the Pro Bowl games involve a series of skill challenges that begin on Thursday, Feb. 2. These events include a dodgeball tournament, a passing and catching competition and a speed and agility gauntlet.

All of this culminates with the seven-on-seven, AFC vs. NFC flag football game on Sunday, Feb. 5 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ramsey now adds to what is quickly becoming a Hall of Fame-worthy career. By age 28, he has made six Pro Bowls and three All-Pro first teams. He also won Super Bowl 56 with the Rams and was second in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting in 2016.

Mike LaFleur joining Rams as offensive coordinator

The Rams are coming off of a season that saw them produce their worst offensive output of the Sean McVay era. They finished dead last in yards per game and 27th in points per game, driving previous offensive coordinator Liam Coen to return to his role as the OC for the University of Kentucky.

After McVay revealed that he would be staying with the Rams instead of going to retirement, he got to work searching for a new offensive coordinator and he has found his man.

Former New York Jets OC Mike LaFleur is oining the Rams as the OC after a year in which the Jets offense was stifled by poor quarterback play all season long. LaFleur was also the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach for the San Francisco 49ers from 2017-20.

McVay obviously has a connection to the LaFleur family, as Matt LaFleur — current head coach of the Green Bay Packers — was the offensive coordinator for the Rams in 2017. Hopefully, Mike LaFleur can help to turn around the fortunes of the Rams offense.
