The Los Angeles Rams have a tough second-half schedule of the 2020 season that will likely determine their playoff hopes.

After a dispiriting loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 8, the Rams had their bye week only to return to a matchup with the NFC West-leading Seattle Seahawks. Russell Wilson has arguably been the favorite for MVP so far this season and will present massive problems with both his passing and rushing.

It will certainly be an exciting game as it is a battle of strengths with one of the best defensive units in the league in the Rams squaring off against Wilson. L.A. is near or at the top in several metrics, a testament to defensive coordinator Brandon Staley’s scheme and ability to place players in the best possible position.

Jalen Ramsey should have a busy day tracking the Seattle stable of receivers, but according to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic, he may not be shadowing DK Metcalf:

Metcalf has been a breakout star in the NFL this season, routinely getting downfield and coming down with contested catches along the sideline or simply outrunning his defender. On the other side, Tyler Lockett has been as steady as ever and has already had a couple of explosive games.

Ramsey was unable to play against the Dolphins due to an illness, and his absence was apparent because the Rams defense lacked the same energy and physicality they have displayed so far. Having the defensive back return will be a boost to the secondary, but they will need to play their best football if they want to contain such a potent Seahawks defense.

Ramsey may be lined up most of the time on Metcalf in order to limit Seattle’s most reliable option, but his versatility will be in full effect given how many threats they have. It will be interesting to see if Los Angeles can bounce back and get back on track.
