With the start of the 2021 season just around the corner, the NFL is in the process of putting out its annual top 100 players list and Los Angeles Rams star cornerback Jalen Ramsey came in at No. 13.

The Rams took a big gamble when they gave up two first-round picks to acquire Ramsey from the Jacksonville Jaguars and then signing him to a massive extension that made him the highest-paid cornerback in the league.

So far though, Ramsey has been worth every penny as he’s coming off arguably the best season of his career in which he was named a Pro Bowler and All-Pro, leading the Rams to the best defensive in the league.

Ramsey has earned a reputation as the best shutdown cornerback in football, and these rankings reflect that as at No. 13, he was the top player at his position.

In 2020, Ramsey locked up a number of top receivers such as DK Metcalf, DeAndre Hopkins, Mike Evans, Terry McLaurin and Allen Robinson.

Metcalf and other stars around the league spoke to what makes Ramsey so great after he was ranked 13th:

Going into 2021, Ramsey believes he still has more improvements to make and will get the opportunity to do so under new defensive coordinator Raheem Morris.

Part of what made him so great in 2020 was his ability to move all around the field and follow No. 1 receivers, so look for him to do the same this season on a Rams defense that should again be one of the best in the league.

In addition to Ramsey, Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald also made the top 100 players list as it was already announced that he will be somewhere within the top 10.
