Los Angles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey has plenty to be thankful for these days. The Rams made quite the investment in order to bring him in as a foundational piece of the defense and an even bigger one by making him the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history.

Not only is he providing plenty of bang for his buck as a premier shutdown corner, but he is also doing a stellar job of leading the league’s most talented, young secondary.

Aside from his efforts on the field, Ramsey has embraced the opportunity to be active in helping out the surrounding community during a year that has been plagued by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. So it comes as no surprise to see him keeping it going during Thanksgiving.

His foundation, Ramsey’s Reach, recently donated $20,000 in Vons gift cards in South LA and Inglewood for the holiday, via ESPN’s Lindsey Thiry:

Rams CB Jalen Ramsey purchased $20,000 in Vons grocery gift cards that were distributed at a Turkey giveaway in South LA and Inglewood today. 👏👏👏

Ramsey took to Twitter to speak on what it means for him to be able to give back:

Myself & Ramsey’s Reach have been ACTIVE this year tryna make positive impacts! It’s a blessing to be a blessing! 🙏🏾.. & it’s all love 🤟🏾

Aside from hoping out the L.A. community, Ramsey also paired with the Blaze Mentoring Program to donate $3,000 in gift cards to Metro Nashville Public High School students for Thanksgiving. During the offseason, he announced his donation of $1 million to the Purpose Preparatory Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, Athletes First.

Given the circumstances of such an unprecedented year amid the ongoing pandemic, players on the Rams have made it a point to ramp up their philanthropic efforts. Left tackle Andrew Whitworth recently helped raise $163,500 as the co-host of the 3rd Annual “LA Rams Night for Wishes” charity event.

As important as it is for L.A. to reach their goals on the field, their efforts off of it are indicative of the team’s culture around the organization. There is no question that this has helped fuel their current standing atop the NFC West at 7-3.
