The Tennessee Titans emerged as the winners of the Julio Jones sweepstakes, acquiring the star receiver from the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a 2022 second-round pick and a 2023 fourth-round pick.

The Los Angeles Rams were among the teams that were rumored to have interest in acquiring Jones and even emerged as one of the frontrunners to land his services at one point. Star cornerback Jalen Ramsey even put on his recruiting hat to assist in the efforts to bring him to L.A.

However, reports ultimately indicated that the Rams were out of the running for Jones. It was not long after that the Titans managed to make a splash by revamping their offense.

It is safe to say that the rumors of L.A. bowing out of the race for Jones did not sit well with Ramsey after he took to Twitter to express his disappointment:

Ramsey’s dismay did not go unnoticed by Titans’ tackle Taylor Lewan. Fortunately, he quickly dismissed the notion.

It is easy to see why Ramsey was disappointed in the outcome since the Rams had the picks necessary to make a trade. There is no question that adding Jones to this high-powered offense would have made them a clear-cut Super Bowl favorite.

Unfortunately, the biggest issue for L.A. would have been the lack of cap space they already had to deal with this offseason. General manager Les Snead would have had to restructure even more deals and cut players with Jones carrying a cap hit of $23,050,000 for the 2021 campaign.

The Rams are clearly confident that they have more than enough weapons at their disposal for quarterback Matthew Stafford to work with. After all, this became a point of emphasis this offseason with the additions of receivers like DeSean Jackson and Tutu Atwell.

It should be interesting to see how both offenses fare after making arguably the biggest splashes this offseason.
