The vast improvement from the offense and the sudden decline in the defense of the Los Angeles Rams has dominated the headlines so far in the 2017 NFL season. However, little has been said about the steady production from their special teams.
Los Angeles struggled on offense to begin the game in Week 4 while the Dallas Cowboys scored on their first four drives. However, they managed to stay within striking distance thanks to yet another perfect day from kicker Greg Zuerlein. The Rams announced on their official Twitter that Zuerlein had broken the franchise record for most field goals made in a game:

Zuerlein converted all seven of his attempts to help lead Los Angeles to a 35-30 victory over Dallas. What makes his day even more impressive is that four of his kicks came from 40-plus yards out.
Although the Rams have proven to be formidable on offense, they still have yet to capitalize on many of their scoring opportunities with touchdowns. Their red zone struggles could mean Zuerlein will continue to have a significant role in their scoring totals.
Zuerlein’s has been a 14/14 perfect so far in the 2017 NFL season. While it is unlikely that it will remain that way, Zuerlein has nonetheless established himself as one of the best kickers in the league.
