The Los Angeles Rams are hoping to end the 2019 NFL season on a high note by winning their next two NFC West matchups starting with a visit to play the San Francisco 49ers in Week 16.

The Rams have been dealing with their fair share of injuries throughout the year and this week is no different. Although they are expected to get right tackle Rob Havenstein back, two more key players have landed on the injury report in cornerback Troy Hill and kicker Greg Zuerlein.

Tight end Gerald Everett also has not played the last three games due to a knee injury. Fortunately, he has been able to log in an ample amount of practice time on a short week before making the trip up to The Bay.

It appears he has managed to get cleared to play against the 49ers, via ESPN’s Lindsey Thiry:

Rams TE Gerald Everett is listed as a FULL participant and is good to go Saturday vs. 49ers.

Everett has been able to string together a few breakout performances in the 2019 campaign. He is hoping to end the year with a bang after being hobbled by the knee injury that forced him to miss the last three games.

Unfortunately, Everett’s absence made way for Tyler Higbee to take full advantage of his increased role in the passing game. Higbee has now registered more than seven catches and 100 yards over the last three games and his emergence has raised plenty of speculation regarding whether or not he will be the full-time tight end moving forward.

Up until now, Everett had largely served as at the better receiving tight end while Higbee fortified the blocking upfront, however, it is safe to say that the latter has proven he is more than capable of taking on a heavier workload.

As a result, it will be interesting to see if Everett resumes his role as the receiving option on offense or if he will ultimately take a backseat to Higbee’s recent surge. Regardless, there is no denying that he will need to show that he is still a viable option for quarterback Jared Goff if he hopes not to get left by the wayside.
