The Los Angeles Rams are trying to get back into the postseason mix after a slow start to the season, but they took a step backwards in Week 12 with a disappointing home loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football.
As it turns out, that loss at SoFi Stadium was the start of an unfortunate night for Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson.
Robinson was arrested on suspicion of a DUI early Monday morning while driving on the 101 freeway in Los Angeles, via Grant Gordon of NFL.com:
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Monday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol release obtained by NFL Media.
Robinson, 30, was cited and “released to a responsible party,” per the CHP West Valley Area office.
Robinson appeared to be driving around 100 mph around the time of the arrest:
CHP officers observed a white Dodge sedan traveling upwards of 100 mph on US-101 northbound at 5:13 a.m. Monday morning. Officers conducted an enforcement stop and the driver identified himself as Demarcus Dontavian Robinson, the CHP release said. Per the release, officers observed signs of alcohol impairment.
This is obviously unfortunate and something you never want to happen to any player if you are the Rams.
Robinson is in his ninth NFL season and second since coming over to the Rams. He has started all 11 games for L.A. this season and has 26 receptions for 384 yards and a team-leading six receiving touchdowns.
The Rams will hit the road in Week 13 to play the New Orleans Saints, and head coach Sean McVay is not yet sure if Robinson will play in that game, via Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic:
Sean McVay says the Rams are in the process of gathering information about Demarcus Robinson’s arrest and release on suspicion of driving under the influence on Monday. He has not made a decision about Robinson’s status but expects to over the next day or so.

If Robinson doesn’t end up playing then Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington would like see increased snaps as the Rams’ third receiver behind Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp.
Sean McVay: Rams will come back swinging after loss to Eagle
After getting blown out by the Eagles at home in what Sean McVay called a humbling loss, the head coach also said he expects the Rams to come back swinging when they take the field in Week 13 against the Saints.
