Although the Los Angeles Rams are still seeking their first win of the preseason, the most important part is making sure the starters and the key pieces of the roster stay healthy before the 2021 season officially kicks off.

The Rams were already dealt a major blow when Cam Akers suffered a torn Achilles earlier in the offseason and will miss the entirety of the season. Luckily, Los Angeles has another talented running back in Darrell Henderson who is pegged as the starter, although he also comes with injury concerns.

Henderson has yet to play a full NFL season since being drafted by the Rams in the third round in 2019 as his durability has been called into question. L.A. received another scare after it was reported that Henderson suffered a thumb injury and did not return to practice. But according to Stu Jackson of TheRams.com, it appears he will be fine moving forward:

Update: Per team, @RamsNFL RB Darrell Henderson Jr. sprained his thumb. No ligament damage. Henderson is day-to-day. https://t.co/3bvC27UxoL

Losing Henderson for a significant amount of time would have been catastrophic for Los Angeles, especially after Raymond Calais suffered a foot fracture in the loss to the Las Vegas Raiders and will be sidelined for at least four to six months.

After Akers went down, the organization seemed content with the current backs although given the recent injury scares, they decided to go out and trade for Sony Michel to add some much-needed depth.

Henderson is a talented player who should be able to thrive in the offense this season, but the Rams were wise to get a veteran in and solidify the rotation with the addition of Michel.
