When owner Stan Kroenke decided to move the Rams to Los Angeles, he began the construction of a state-of-the-art stadium in Inglewood that will become the country’s biggest hub for sports and entertainment for years to come.
After playing four seasons at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum, the Rams are set to move into their new home, SoFi Stadium, beginning with the 2020 season.
That means that the construction company is running out of time to complete the stadium that is set to open this July with a pair of Taylor Swift concerts. While the latest reports indicate the stadium is around 85% complete, they obviously still have a lot to do, including installing a 120-yard, two-million pound 4K Oculus video board.
It appears there were some complications on Friday morning, as the L.A. County Fire Department reported that a crane collapsed at the construction site, although lucky no one was injured in the accident:

Marvin Lim, a direct fire department spokesman, said they received a report of the collapse of a large crane shortly before 8 a.m. in the 1000 block of South Prairie Avenue. A crane that was being moved struck the boom of a stationary crane, causing that second crane to collapse.
SoFi Stadium is expected to hold 70,000 seats and has cost $5 billion to build, making it the most expensive stadium in NFL history.
