Heading into the 2022 season, there’s no debate that Cooper Kupp has entrenched himself among the top-tier of wide receivers in the NFL.

Kupp had one of the most historic receiving seasons ever and managed to cap off the year by winning Super Bowl LVI MVP honors. For his work, the Los Angeles Rams rewarded him with a lucrative extension that is befitting of the caliber of player he’s become.

Skeptics around the league might attribute Kupp’s success to head coach Sean McVay’s offensive scheme and Matthew Stafford’s reliance on him in the passing game, but for years, the Eastern Washington product has been considered one of the most underrated wideouts in the game currently. Now, Kupp’s finally getting his due and he should be treated as an elite offensive weapon.

In fact, EA Sports gave Kupp the respect he deserves as he was given one of the highest ratings possible in the upcoming Madden 23:

Davante Adams was the only one to receive a perfect 99 score which makes sense given his production over the past few seasons. While some Rams fans may argue Kupp also deserved a 99, settling in at 98 is still a massive accomplishment and a testament to the work he’s put in over the years.

The rest of the top-10 looks to be about right with the likes of Tyreek Hill, Deandre Hopkins and Stefon Diggs right behind Kupp. Justin Jefferson might be the one to make the biggest in-season jump from 93, especially considering he recently ranked himself above Kupp in his personal top-five receivers list.

Quibbling over video game ratings is most likely the least of Kupp’s concerns, but he’ll have a shot to prove he deserved a perfect 99 once the new year finally kicks off.
