Through three weeks of the 2025 season, Matthew Stafford has looked good and, most importantly, healthy for the Los Angeles Rams.

Despite a brutal loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3, Stafford came away from the game relatively unscathed. Now, he and the Rams return home to host the red-got Indianapolis Colts in Week 4.

Indianapolis is one of the few undefeated teams remaining and their revamped offense will present problems for Los Angeles’ defense.

Daniel Jones has been at the heart of the Colts’ resurgence, but he offered up praise for Stafford ahead of their matchup, via JJ Stankevitz of Colts.com:

“He’s a fun guy to watch,” Jones said. “I’ve always enjoyed watching his games, watching him play — he’s extremely talented as a passer, can make any throw and makes it look easy. He has a really high football IQ. You can tell he knows where the ball’s supposed to go and he does it, and he’s been playing really well for a long time.”

Colts head coach Shane Steichen had even higher praise, calling him one of the best quarterbacks ever:

“I think he’s one of the best to ever do it,” Steichen said. “He has a physicality about him — he’s as tough as it gets. You see him taking shots, he gets up, he ain’t coming out of the game. And that’s respect there right away seeing that. He can make all the throws. He does a great job of seeing it. He makes some big plays with his arm. When you got a that’s done it at a high level for a long time, he’s seen a lot of different looks. Getting them in and out of the right plays is huge. He’s been doing that for a long time. Just the utmost respect for him.”

Jones and Steichen highlight two traits that separate Stafford from his peers, his arm talent and toughness. The 37-year-old has a knack for game-winning drives and taking hits, the latter of which the Rams are trying to protect him from.

Stafford remains one of the best signal callers in the league and Los Angeles will need him at his best if they hope to hand Indianapolis their first loss of the season.

Matthew Stafford wants Rams to learn from Eagles loss

For the second time, the Rams had the Eagles on the ropes before collapsing in the second half. It was brutal to watch, though Matthew Stafford hopes the team will learn from the loss.
