After a disappointing performance in their Week 1 season opener, the Los Angeles Rams will be looking to bounce back in a big way in Week 2. The Rams will have their home opener at SoFi Stadium on Monday Night Football when they host the New York Giants, and the legendary Aaron Donald will be making his return to the field after two years away.

Donald, of course, is one of the greatest defensive players to ever step foot on a football field so all eyes will be on him and how he looks in his comeback. But the Giants aren’t afraid and their star running back Cam Skattebo is actually excited to face off against the all-time great.

“Yeah, I mean, he’s had a couple years off and I’m sure he’s ready to go and excited to play. But he’s still got to play football,” Skattebo said on Thursday. “He hasn’t practiced a ton. He hasn’t played in a game yet or played a ton. So, I mean, if it is his first game, then he’s got to be ready for it just like we do. So, I’m excited to play against him. He’s one of the best to ever do it. It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be a good challenge for the guys up front. It’s going to be a good challenge. If I have to meet him in the hole on third and one, then so be it. I’ve got to get one yard. But he’s a good player. He’s one of the best to ever do it. So, all respect to him.”

Donald then confirmed on Friday that the plan is for him to suit up and play against the Giants on Monday, which would be his first game in over two years.

Skattebo is known as a physical and fearless runner so it makes complete sense that he is looking forward to seeing Donald on the other side of the line. He obviously has a ton of respect for the Rams star, but the best love to test themselves against the best and that is what Skattebo has the chance to do on Monday night.

The most important thing for the Rams, however, is making sure they get a win and avoid starting the season 0-2. Donald’s return will be the big story and all eyes will be on him, but the entire team will need to be locked in to ensure they take down the Giants.

Rams coach Sean McVay says Myles Garrett is healing like Wolverine

While Donald will be back, the Rams will be without their other superstar defensive lineman after Myles Garrett underwent knee surgery. But head coach Sean McVay offered a promising update on how he is recovering.
