Rams News: Brandin Cooks Says Jared Goff Is A ‘Natural-Born Leader’

Los Angeles Rams Pro Bowl quarterback Jared Goff is coming off a breakout campaign heading into his third year in the league. It has seen him thrust into the conversation of being one of the top young players at his position in the league.

This has also put him in the position to take on more of a leadership role with the Rams in the 2018 NFL season. It is something that veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks has noticed right away that Goff is excelling in that department over this offseason, according to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN:

“You talk about a guy that’s a natural-born leader, who works hard throughout this offseason, throwing with each other before this all started,” Cooks said. “Now transitioning into OTAs I think has been great for all the receivers.”

With the Rams becoming a potential powerhouse in the NFL, this has pushed forward a tremendous amount of expectations on the franchise to find success. Goff looks to be more than ready for the challenge with his teammates already taking notice of his increased leadership presence over the team.

Los Angeles is hoping he can take the next step with the team by taking them beyond just a playoff appearance and division title next season and beyond that. Goff has certainly displayed that he has the talent to be the game changer with his arm, it’s just a matter of him continuing to build off that this upcoming season.

A part of that growth will be his leadership over the offseason that will not only garner more respect and trust from his teammates but could also translate to success on the field. Time will only tell if this can lead to him taking this next vital step in his development into a legitimate franchise quarterback in Los Angeles.
