Mother’s Day comes but once a year and every May, everyone uses that day to show how much moms around the world truly are appreciated.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Brandin Cooks was no exception this year. The Pro Bowler discussed his respect for his mom for instilling a work ethic in him and how he believes she will always set high standards for him, via Clarence Dennis of TheRams.com:

“I’m always telling people I think my work ethic comes from her and she has work ethic that’s unmatched and that I’m still trying to chase and obtain,” Cooks said. “And I don’t think that I ever will, but I think that gives me that heart and that drive and that passion to keep going, just because I’m chasing something that’s really far out there in a sense. I think that’s what keeps me leveling up and keeps me going.”

Although Cooks work ethic may never as strong as his mother’s, it has certainly worked for him on the field. Cooks has put up over 1,000 yards in his last four seasons, becoming a premier threat in the NFL. He put up a career-best 1,204 in his first season in Los Angeles while hauling in 80 total receptions and five touchdowns.

Cooks was not the lone Ram to celebrate Mother’s Day as cornerback Aqib Talib also took to social media on Sunday to celebrate a generation of mothers in his life.

The Rams offense, which was the fifth-best passing offense in 2018, featured a number of great receivers in addition to Cooks. Robert Woods broke 1,000 yards for the first time in his six-season career. He led the Rams with 1,219 receiving yards this season.

With Cooper Kupp do back from injury, the Rams are expected to have one of the better receiving corps in the league once again in 2019.
