Los Angeles Rams linebacker Bobby Wagner was named to the second-team All-Pro by the Associated Press, announced on Friday, Jan. 13.

Associated Press releases their official list of the best players at each position via the All-Pro teams, where the top players at each position make the first team and the next tier of superstars make the second team.

Wagner was one of six linebackers to be selected to an All-Pro team, and one of three to be named to the second team. He was also the Rams’ only selection, with stars like Cooper Kupp and Aaron Donald likely missing too many games due to injury to be considered.

In his first year with the Rams, Wagner started all 17 games. He has missed just one game since 2016. Wagner secured two interceptions, making it just the fourth multi-pick season of his illustrious career.

He led the Rams in tackles with 140, making it his seventh straight season with at least 133 tackles. Wagner also had a career-high six sacks, totaling 10 QB hits and 10 tackles for loss.

This is Wagner’s ninth consecutive selection to an All-Pro team, and his third in that span to the second team (2015, 2021, 2022). He has six selections to the All-Pro First Team (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020).

Wagner was just two tackles shy of tying James Laurinaitis for the Rams all-time single-season record. Wagner is under contract with the Rams through at least 2024, but of course NFL contracts are perhaps the easiest to get out of if the Rams choose to go that direction.
