When Bobby Wagner was a surprising release from the Seattle Seahawks, it was a no-brainer for the Los Angeles Rams to chase after the decorated linebacker.

Even in his 30s, Wagner is an impact presence in the middle of the field that any team could use and for the Rams, their interest made sense despite never heavily investing in the position. The two sides eventually agreed on a deal, bringing Wagner back to his hometown of Southern California.

Any time a player comes back home it’s a fun story and Wagner is wasting no time investing back into his community as he is hosting a free football camp at his old high school, per Rams Community:

The linebacker has talked about wanting to provide for his community and this is a great first step in doing so. With someone like Wagner heading the camp, there will be plenty of interest and it should be a fun day for the youth learning from one of the NFL’s best.

As for how Wagner fits with the Rams, he will likely assume his normal three-down role though the interesting thing to watch out for will be how defensive coordinator Raheem Morris utilizes him alongside Ernest Jones.

Jones is primed to take another step forward after a successful rookie season, so how he and Wagner play together will be something to monitor during the 2022 season.
