There’s no denying that Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald is one of the NFL’s premier players as the reigning two-time Defensive Player of the Year consistently wreaks havoc on opposing offenses.

The scary part is that Donald only seems to be getting better. Each year he find an area to improve upon and take his talents to new heights.

For Chicago Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky, he has the misfortune of playing against the Rams and Donald this weekend at the Coliseum. In a recent interview with NFL Network Trubisky discussed what makes Donald so special:

“The things he does on film, it looks like a cheat code,” Trubisky said. “In one-on-one matchups, you gotta chip him, double-team him just so he’s not ruining your entire game plan because he’s that type of player. Not only does he get to the quarterback or running back, but he causes fumbles.”

Despite not seeing too much of Donald in their meeting last year in Chicago, he still knows what the he is capable of:

“How he’s slipping through defenders and getting through double-teams and even triple-teams, it’s pretty crazy to watch on film the things he does and how fast he comes off the ball and how he’s able to use his body to get through the line.”

Last year, the Rams played in Chicago during Week 13 in cold weather, which may have slowed L.A. down as they had one of their worst collective performances of the season. The team only managed to put up six points off of two field goals, while Jared Goff threw four interceptions.

Trubisky himself did not have a great game, throwing only one touchdown and three interceptions. The game was largely decided by the defense and the kickers and in the end, the Bears handed the Rams their second loss of the season.

This year, icy conditions will not be a concern as Los Angeles will host the contest. Donald along with the rest of the Rams will likely be looking for a bit of revenge, and they are also coming off a tough loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, so that also brings extra motivation as well.
