The Los Angeles Rams are coming off a highly impressive season where they snapped an over decade-long absence that much of that came from their vast improvement on the offensive side of the ball. In fact, the Rams possessed the most potent unit on that side of the ball that saw them lead the league in scoring.

The Rams have followed that up this offseason by beefing up their defense with proven talent that includes All-Pro cornerbacks Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib. According to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN, the team’s new defensive back duo has already been blown away by the team’s offensive system:

“We got an introduction to that [Sean] McVay offense,” said Talib, a 10-year NFL veteran. “It was crazy.”

Said Peters: “It’s crazy unique.”

Los Angeles is coming off a huge season where the team that saw them finished ranked first with 29.9 points per game, 10th with 361.5 total offensive yards per contest, The saw the team score less than 20 points just three times last season while topping more than 30 points nine times.

The front office has also added to the puzzle with the addition of a  proven wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who proven to be one of the league’s most productive players over the last three seasons by surpassing more than 1,000 receiving yards in each campaign.

However, if the Rams hope to take the step forward toward being considered a legitimate title contender will need them make improvements on the defensive side of the ball after giving up 20.6 points per contest. The addition of the likes of Talib, Marcus Peters, All-Pro defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has the potential to help them tremendously on that side of the field with more a formidable defensive unit. All of this has set the table for what could be a promising 2018 campaign.
