The start of the 2020 NFL season is just around the corner, although there still is a ton of uncertainty that remains due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Los Angeles Rams head coach recently questioned how teams will be able to play games while also maintaining social distancing, which is a valid question to be asking right now.

While the Rams have not announced which of their players have contracted coronavirus, it’s fair to assume that at least a few of them have. Brian Allen became the first NFL player to announce that he tested positive, although he has since made a full recovery thankfully.

It appears he wasn’t the only member of the Rams’ offensive line to fight the virus as Andrew Whitworth announced that he and his entire family tested positive earlier this summer, via Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic:

Having an entire family, including children and senior citizens, contracting the virus is obviously horrible news. It’s the reality that everybody is living in right now though, so hopefully everyone can use Whitworth’s story as a learning experience that anyone can get coronavirus at any time even if they are taking the necessary precautions.

The Rams are just over a week away from reporting to training camp, not giving Whitworth much time to get ready if he is still dealing with symptoms. Him saying that he tested positive earlier in the summer likely means that he is OK now though, which is certainly good news.

Either way, a veteran player of Whitworth’s status will not be playing in the preseason so he still will have plenty of time to get ready for Week 1.
