The NFL finds itself in a bit of a dead period now that the initial wave of free agency and the draft has come to pass. As of now, teams are in the midst of voluntary workouts where the Los Angeles Rams are making the most of their time by integrating some of their new pieces.

The largest addition to the offense was Allen Robinson, who the Rams signed to a three-year deal to replace Robert Woods. Robinson spent the past few seasons toiling with the Chicago Bears but now gets a chance to prove that he is still one of the league’s best wideouts.

Robinson has been participating in Los Angeles’ voluntary offseason workouts in order to better learn head coach Sean McVay’s offense and fortunately, he has had Cooper Kupp by his side to help him out. The receiver has been getting his reps in and said that having Kupp around has been beneficial during the early part of his tenure with the Rams, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

“Whenever you’re playing next to guys like that, it’s a tremendous help,” Robinson said.

Aside from Kupp, Robinson has also been spending extra time with Matthew Stafford in order to build up their rapport:

“Anything that he sees, to just being in communication with me, to making sure if there’s anything I can do better, making sure I’m on the right timing, making sure everything is timed with what he sees and things like that,” Robinson said. “Whenever you have that communication with the quarterback, it just makes things so much better.”

Kupp and Stafford are the best receiver and quarterback, respectively, Robinson has played with up to this point in his career, so it is crucial he gets acclimated to playing with both of them.

Robinson is an excellent receiver when it comes to contested balls and that should provide some exciting highlights during the 2022 season. However, Robinson will also need to understand receiver responsibilities in the run game if he wants to truly be successful in Los Angeles.

Kupp and Robinson look like a fun tandem on paper and it should be a blast to see them suit up together in the coming months.
