Rams News: Alec Ogletree Reacts To Giants Trade On Twitter

Even after a successful 2017 NFL season that culminated in an NFC West division title and a playoff berth, the Los Angeles Rams have been one of the busiest teams in the offseason. With several questions to address regarding their roster, the Rams have been hard at work bringing in quality talent and clearing enough cap space to sign some of their key players to long-term extensions.

After trading away defensive end Robert Quinn to the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles made another move to clear room by trading linebacker Alex Ogletree to the New York Giants for a pair of 2018 NFL draft picks. The trade was a shock given that the Rams agreed to a four-year extension with Ogletree during the 2017 NFL campaign, but it appears they are prioritizing signing their free agents more.

Ogletree eventually took to Twitter to express his feelings about the move:

While Ogletree seems okay with the move, players like Todd Gurley voiced their displeasure with the move. The linebacker was a popular locker room guy and the clear emotional and vocal leader for a young Rams squad.

With both Quinn and Ogletree now gone, Los Angeles suddenly has a void at the linebacker position. While Wade Phillips is likely to develop some of the talent already on the roster, the Rams will most likely now look to address the position need in free agency and the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft.
