The NFL announced the rosters for the 2024 Pro Bowl Games and the Los Angeles Rams are well-represented as Matthew Stafford, Kyren Williams, Puka Nacua and Aaron Donald were named to the NFC team.
Additionally, Ben Skowronek was named as an alternate for the roster for his contributions on special teams.
Donald is no stranger to the Pro Bowl as this marks his 10th time being named to the roster. Donald has made the Pro Bowl every year since being drafted in 2014, becoming just the third defensive lineman to make a Pro Bowl in each of their first 10 seasons in the league.
Although the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year is having a quieter year, he has still recorded 53 total tackles and eight sacks through 16 games. Donald may not be having the same statistical impact fans have become accustomed to, but he remains one of the NFL’s best defensive players.
Stafford returns to the Pro Bowl for just the second time in his career, with his first nod coming back in 2014 as a member of the Detroit Lions. Stafford was selected for the Pro Bowl in his first season in Los Angeles, but did not appear in the game due to the team making Super Bowl LVI.
The 2023 season has been a bounce back year for Stafford as he’s looked healthy and started 15 games. He’s thrown for 3,965 passing yards and 24 touchdowns against 11 interceptions. Stafford would’ve crossed the 4,000 yard mark, but is sitting Week 18 against the San Francisco 49ers ahead of the playoffs.
The heartbeat of the offense, Williams has been the driving force behind the Rams’ second-half turnaround. Williams broke out as soon as the team traded away Cam Akers, but suffered a high-ankle sprain that landed him on injured reserve. However, Williams wasted no time dominating defenses in his return and kept that momentum going.
Williams is deservedly making his first Pro Bowl game after recording 1,144 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns to go along with 32 receptions for 206 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns.
Last but not least, Nacua rightfully makes the Pro Bowl roster after putting up one of the most historic rookie wide receiver seasons ever. Nacua’s started 16 games for Los Angeles and put up video game numbers, hauling in 101 passes for 1,445 yards and five touchdowns.
Nacua will have a chance to make history in Week 18 as he needs just four receptions and 29 yards to break both rookie receiving records.
Rams stars Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Aaron Donald and Kyren Williams ruled out against 49ers
Making the postseason is nothing short of amazing for this Rams roster and the team is being conservative with their stars as they have ruled out Cooper Kupp, Donald and Williams for the regular season finale against the 49ers, in addition to Stafford.
