Rams News: Aaron Donald & Johnny Hekker Named To NFL All-Decade Team
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL announced its All-Decade Team from 2010-19 and Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald and punter Johnny Hekker both made the list. Additionally, former Rams players in defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and safety Eric Weddle were also named.

There were eight unanimous selections and Donald was one of them along with Tom Brady, Von Miller, Adrian Peterson, Joe Thomas, Justin Tucker, JJ Watt and Marshal Yanda.

Donald originally was a first-round draft pick (13th overall) of the Rams in 2014 out of Pittsburgh. In addition to being named to the Pro Bowl in all six of his NFL seasons, he has also been named a First-Team All-Pro in the last five.

He also was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2014 and won back-to-back NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards in 2017 and 2018. His 20.5 sacks in 2018 were the most ever for an interior defensive lineman.

Hekker has been with the Rams since signing as an undrafted free agent in 2012 out of Oregon State and is unquestionably one of the best punters in the league. He has been named a Pro Bowler four times and All-Pro four times in his eight seasons.

Suh and Weddle only played a season each in Rams uniforms in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Suh was a part of the team that went to the Super Bowl before moving on to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Weddle finished out his career in a Rams uniform before retiring this offseason.
