The Los Angeles Rams managed to maintain their pass rush duo this offseason by bringing back Leonard Floyd as the complementary option to superstar Aaron Donald.
The Rams have ushered in Super Bowl expectations with their influx of star power this offseason. Regardless, this has not stopped players like superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey from making efforts to bring in some more big names ahead of the 2021 NFL season.
Of course, Julio Jones is hardly the only high-profile player still left on the market. Among the most notable is former Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Melvin Ingram.
It appears Donald has now put his recruiting hat on with a not-so-cryptic response to a post asking which defense should add Ingram, via Twitter:

Donald’s response is intriguing since he is not usually one to sound off matters such as these. However, his interest is certainly understandable given what the Rams already have going on up front.
After all, the fact that Ingram still remains unsigned this late into the offseason is undoubtedly one of the most surprising developments. Although the former Chargers’ star has struggled with injuries as of late, he is not very far removed from his run as one of the most consistent pass rushers in the league.
Ingram failed to record a sack while only playing seven games during the 2020 campaign due to injury. However, he managed to put together consecutive seven-sack seasons and a third straight Pro Bowl appearance before that.
The Rams still have just under $7 million in cap space to work with should they make a run at Ingram. It will be interesting to see if there is any mutual interest from the latter in a potential one-year deal around that number.
Not only would Ingram find himself in an ideal environment to bounce back, but the chance to compete for a championship could also lead to an even bigger payday next offseason.
