Although the Los Angeles Rams were able to earn a win over the Seattle Seahawks on Wild Card Weekend, it came at a cost with a number of key players going down with injuries.

The first to do so is quarterback John Wolford, who suffered a neck injury when being tackled by Jamal Adams. It was a scary sight with him being forced to be taken to a local hospital. He was able to return and celebrate with his teammates though, which was certainly a good sign.

In addition to offensive lineman David Edwards getting hurt, the Rams also lost two of their best players in Aaron Donald and Cooper Kupp, who went down with rib and knee issues, respectively.

Rams head coach Sean McVay recently gave an update on all of the injured players, and it looks like they all avoided serious injuries, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

Quarterback John Wolford (stinger), defensive lineman Aaron Donald (rib), offensive lineman David Edwards (Achilles tendonitis) and wide receiver Cooper Kupp (bursitis) are all considered “day-to-day” following injuries sustained in the Rams’ Wild Card win over the Seahawks, head coach Sean McVay told reporters during a video conference Sunday evening.

McVay gave the best news of all when he said that both Donald and Kupp are expected to be ready for the Rams’ game this weekend against the Green Bay Packers:

In the cases of Donald and Kupp, McVay said he did not expect either of their injuries to impact their availability for Saturday’s divisional round playoff game against the Packers.

The Rams have a quick turnaround as their game is on Saturday at 1:35 p.m. PT, which does not give these players much time to get ready.

Donald and Kupp are arguably the team’s two most important players on each side of the ball, so it’s definitely a good sign that both are expected to be ready despite being knocked out of the game against the Seahawks.

The quarterback situation remains up in the air for L.A., although with Jared Goff’s playing well after Wolford went down, he has to be considered the favorite to get the start against Green Bay.
