The Los Angeles Rams have undergone some significant changes to their coaching staff following the 2020 NFL season.

Head coach Sean McVay’s staff has experienced some major turnover since his arrival prior to the 2017 campaign. This offseason was no different with the departure of defensive coordinator Brandon Staley and a number of other coaches.

The Rams efforts to usher in some fresh faces at key positions has not stopped leading up to the 2021 NFL season. It appears offensive line coach and running game coordinator Aaron Kromer is the next to join the list of former Rams coaches.

L.A. has confirmed that they will mutually part ways with Kromer, per Greg Beachum of The Associated Press:

The Los Angeles Rams say they have mutually parted ways with Aaron Kromer, their offensive line coach and running game coordinator.

The Rams on Thursday confirmed the departure of Kromer, who had been with the team since head coach Sean McVay’s first season in 2017.

Kromer is the seventh coaching assistant to leave the Rams this offseason. He has been a part of McVay’s coaching staff since McVay began his tenure as the head coach and was promoted to running game coordinator in 2018.

Kromer helped lead quite the resurgence up front for a group that had been largely subpar prior tons arrival. While there is no question that his departure leaves a rather notable void to fill on the coaching staff, the team’s moves this offseason indicate that they have a potential replacement in mind.

Interestingly enough, Kromer’s son, Zak, will be sticking around on the staff as an offensive quality control coach for what will be his fifth season. Of course, it remains to be seen where the family will have to gather once the holidays roll around during the season.

The Rams have undoubtedly benefitted from the coaching tree that has taken root under McVay as of late. Unfortunately, the turnover that comes with it has also served as a major drawback.
