Rams Legend Eric Dickerson Believes New Uniforms Make Team Look ‘Soft’

The Los Angeles Rams are doing a complete rebrand this offseason with a new era set to begin at SoFi Stadium, and with that came an unveiling of new logos, colors and uniforms.

The reception to the new logos earlier this offseason was less than stellar, and then when the new uniforms were unveiled this week, the reception on social media was similar.

Perhaps the most vocal person about their dislike for the logos was Rams legend Eric Dickerson as he spoke with the organization to try and get them changed, although it was to no avail.

It appears that he is not all that happy with the uniforms either as he went on a rant on AM 570 LA Sports, claiming that the uniforms are soft, via Lindsey Thiry of ESPN:

Among his comments, he said the horns on the helmet look like “two bananas” and that the changes make the team look “soft.”

“This is football. This ain’t nothing to do with surfing. This ain’t nothing to do with waves. This is football. This is a man’s sport,” Dickerson said in the interview. “And to me, it just looks soft. It don’t look like football. It don’t look hard.”

“The helmet and the logo, they both suck,” he said.

While having a team legend like Dickerson being so vocal about his dislike of the new uniforms and logos is less than ideal, the reception among the Rams’ current players has been much different.

The Rams also announced that they will be unveiling new uniforms in both 2021 and 2022 as well, so they could make the necessary changes if the 2020 ones are as bad as some people think they are.

Regardless though, these are exciting times for the Rams as they open their new home and look to get back in the postseason picture in 2020.
