The Los Angeles Rams have had a number of key players deal with injuries this season including tight end Tyler Higee.
Higbee tore his ACL and MCL during the Rams’ playoff loss to the Detroit Lions last January, marking the beginning of a long road to recovery.
Given how late in the season the injury happened, Higbee was unsurprisingly not ready for the start of the 2024 season, being placed on the PUP list during training camp.
With the season reaching its home stretch though, it appears Higbee is making significant progress and could return to action soon, per Sarah Barshop of ESPN:

If Higbee is healthy then getting him back would be a huge boost for the Rams. While Colby Parkinson, Davis Allen and Hunter Long have tried their best to fill in for Higbee, none of them are the receiving threats that he can be for the Rams when healthy.
The Rams have gotten some key offensive players healthy in recent weeks with Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, Steve Avila and Jonah Jackson all returning to action. L.A.’s offense hasn’t quite gotten rolling yet as they integrate so many new pieces, so maybe getting Higbee back will bring everything together for the home stretch.
Andrew Whitworth feels good about Rams’ future
Tyler Higbee is one of the few veterans on the Rams’ roster as they have had an influx of young talent added through the draft in recent years. With that being the case, former Rams great Andrew Whitworth spoke about how high he is on the organization moving into the future.
“If you look at it, that was game one for that group,” Andrew Whitworth told Fox News Digital in a recent interview, citing the team’s injuries early on and finally being healthy for the first time this past Monday. “It’s interesting, it really shows you how much being cohesive and being together matters… I look at this young defense and think they’re growing and getting better. Since the bye, they’ve turned things around. There’s still offseason holes where they have to get better, but to see the steps this group has taken up front, you have to feel really good about what the future of this could be.”
While the future may be bright, the Rams are still hoping to get back into the playoff mix this season as well.
