The Los Angeles Rams remained undefeated with a 33-19 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 2, but it came at a cost as several players sustained injuries during the game.
Cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon suffered a broken clavicle and will now be sidelined for a minimum of four weeks.
Defensive end Braden Fiske also injured his oblique during pregame warmups, but still managed to play in a reduced role.
Rams head coach Sean McVay said Fiske is feeling better but the team will monitor the injury throughout the week, via Wyatt Miller of TheRams.com:
Meanwhile, defensive end Braden Fiske “tweaked his oblique” in pregame warmups on Sunday, and was able to play through it on a limited snap count.
“He’s feeling better today, but he’ll be a guy that we’ll monitor throughout the course of the week,” McVay said of Fiske.
Fiske played in only 20% of the Rams’ defensive snaps on Sunday and did not record a tackle.
The 25-year-old is one of the team’s most important players on defense, so they will be cautious with him before determining if he is going to play against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3.
Fiske, who received votes for AP Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2024, had three tackles and a fumble recovery in the Rams’ regular season opener against the Houston Texans.
Rams’ Davante Adams reflects on reaching 12,000 career receiving yards
Davante Adams had a big game against the Titans as he finished with six catches for 106 yards and the touchdown. In doing so, the veteran wide receiver became the 32nd player in NFL history to reach 12,000 career receiving yards.
Adams, who is now in his 12th NFL season, reflected on the milestone and was happy to do it in a Rams’ win.
“It’s much more sweet when you get a dub with it, for sure,” Adams said. “I’ve had a few different ones over the last few years where it’s harder to feel good about it, so obviously, it’s even more easier to celebrate it – not a literal celebration, but to feel good about it definitely. It’s been a long career, so it’s good anytime you can be mentioned with under 100 people is just period, let alone almost top 30 in yards, like, that’s something that means a lot to me, and I know it means a lot to my teammates as well, because it means that I’m out there grinding, trying to do what I can do to help us win.”
