Rams Injury News: Rob Havenstein ‘Continues To Make Good Progress’ In Recovery

A big reason that the Los Angeles Rams were able to reach the Super Bowl last season was because they were able to stay relatively healthy throughout the course of the season. So far in 2019, that has not been the case.

One area where the Rams have had injury troubles has been amongst the offensive line. There has been little consistency on the line all season, and with the lack of experienced backups, that unit has really struggled at times.

Lately, it has been starting right tackle Rob Havenstein who has caught the injury bug. Havenstein did participate in limited practice last week, but ultimately missed the game against the Arizona Cardinals.

This week, Rams head coach Sean McVay is hopeful that the team’s starting right tackle will be able to return, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

Havenstein, who was a limited participant in practice last Thursday and Friday before missing his third straight game, “continues to make good progress,” according to McVay.

Havenstein has missed the last three games due to knee injury but it appears his return is on the horizon, which is good news for the Rams. With Jamil Demby and Brian Allen being ruled out for the rest of the season, inexperienced players have been forced to enter the starting lineup and the results have been mixed.

Part of that inconsistency has to do with the lack of a healthy offensive line. Although Havenstein is just one piece of the puzzle, his five years of experience with the Rams will certainly help to figure things out to finish out the season.
