Scott Frost was, at one time, one of the most sought-after names in all of football at any level. He coached UCF to a perfect season in just his second year with the team and immediately moved up to become the head football coach at the University of Nebraska.

His tenure at Nebraska was less than stellar. He went 16-31 over five seasons and was ultimately let go during the 2022 season. He has been out of the coaching world since, but is now making his first move, and it is with the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams are always looking for ways to shore up their front office or their coaching staff, keeping good football minds consistently circulating at all levels of the organization. And now, they are bringing in Frost in a front office analyst role, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN:

Sources: The LA Rams are expected to hire Scott Frost as a Senior Football Analyst. Frost was most recently the head coach at Nebraska and went 13-0 as the head coach of UCF in 2017. Eeven with the less-than-ideal Nebraska tenure, Frost still can provide significant value to a football team. His work with UFC was unprecedented, as he turned a historically bad program into one of the most dominant Group of Five teams in the nation.

He is sure to provide the Rams with some help as the Senior Football Analyst. And Sean McVay is undoubtedly excited to have more head coaching experience in the building.

Sean McVay discusses Rams trading Ernest Jones

As the Rams were finalizing their initial 53-man roster for the 2024 season, the team cleared a spot by trading linebacker Ernest Jones to the Tennessee Titans.

The Rams additionally sent a 2026 sixth-round draft pick to the Titans and received a fifth-round selection for the same year as their only compensation.

The Rams didn’t get much of a return due to Jones’ current contract situation, which led to the trade. He is looking to be paid at or near the top of the market for inside linebackers ahead of potentially becoming a free agent after the 2024 season.

“Football decision, what we felt like was best for the football team,” head coach Sean McVay said of the trade that sent Jones to the Titans. “He’s a great guy, was amazing for us for a few years but we felt like this was best for our football team.”
