The Los Angeles Rams finalized their coaching staff for the 2025 season, which includes 16 returnees and six new hires.
Sean McVay will be back for his ninth year as the Rams head coach. He led the team to the playoffs last season for the sixth time in his tenure. McVay has guided the Rams to a winning record in all but one of his seasons as head coach.
Mike LaFleur is returning for his third season as the Rams offensive coordinator. His efforts last season helped the team finish 10th in the NFL with 227.5 passing yards per game.
Dave Ragone is entering his second season as the Rams quarterbacks coach.
Ryan Wendell is also returning for his third season as the Rams offensive line coach. Despite starting nine different combinations, the team’s offensive line allowed the sixth-fewest sacks in the NFL during the 2024 season.
Eric Yarber will be back for his ninth season as the Rams wide receiver coach. He guided a receivers group last season that was highlighted by Puka Nacua, who finished with 990 receiving yards despite missing five games due to injury.
Ron Gould is returning for his third season as the Rams running back coach. His efforts helped Kyren Williams set career highs in rushing yards (1,299) and rushing touchdowns (14) during the 2024 season.
Zak Kromer will be back for his ninth season as the Rams assistant offensive line coach and is tied with Yarber as the longest-tenured member of McVay’s staff.
Rob Calabrese is entering his second season as a Rams offensive assistant.
Nate Scheelhaase is back for his second season on the Rams coaching staff and first as pass game coordinator. He was promoted after interviewing with several teams for their respective offensive coordinator roles this offseason.
Chris Shula is returning for his second season as the Rams defensive coordinator and ninth overall with the team. In 2024, he led the unit to the sixth-highest scoring defense with 22 points.
Aubrey Pleasant is entering his second season as the Rams assistant head coach and pass game coordinator, and seventh overall with the team. He oversaw a secondary that had multiple players rank in the top 10 in interceptions during the 2024 season.
Giff Smith will be back for his second season as the Rams run game coordinator and defensive line coach. He helped guide a defensive line that was led by rookie Braden Fiske recording a team-high 8.5 sacks during the 2024 season.
Greg Williams is also returning for his second season as the Rams inside linebackers coach. He led a group that featured Christian Rozeboom and undrafted rookie Omar Speights having career years in 2024.
Chris Beake is entering his third season as the Rams safeties coach and fourth overall with the team. Kamren Kinchens and Jaylen McCollough tied for the team lead with four interceptions each during the 2024 season.
Joe Coniglio will be back for his third season as the Rams outside linebackers coach. He played an important role in Jared Verse winning Defensive Rookie of the Year honors and being named to the PFWA’s All-Rookie Team.
Mike Harris is also entering his third season as a Rams defensive assistant.
Chase Blackburn is returning for his third season as the Rams special teams coordinator. In 2024, he guided a group that included wide receiver Jordan Whittington landing on the PFWA’s All-Rookie Team as a kick returner and rookie Josh Karty setting the franchise record for most points scored by a rookie kicker.
Rams’ new coaching additions
Scott Huff is one of the six new additions to the Rams coaching staff for the 2025 season. He will be the team’s tight ends coach after most recently serving as the Seattle Seahawks’ offensive line coach in 2024.
Alex Van Pelt joins the Rams coaching staff as a senior offensive assistant. He most recently served as the New England Patriots’ offensive coordinator in 2024.
Drew Wilkins joins the Rams coaching staff as pass rush coordinator. He most recently served as the Patriots’ outside linebackers coach in 2024.
Jimmy Lake rejoins the Rams coaching staff as a senior defensive assistant. He was the team’s assistant head coach in 2023 before leaving to become the Atlanta Falcons’ defensive coordinator last season.
Ben Kotwica joins the Rams coaching staff as a special teams assistant. He most recently served as the Denver Broncos’ special teams coordinator over the last two seasons.
Dan Shamash joins the Rams coaching staff as game management coordinator and tight ends assistant. He most recently served as the New York Jets’ game management coordinator and tight ends assistant in 2024.
