The Los Angeles Rams announced their final cuts ahead of Tuesday’s deadline, getting their initial roster down to 53 to begin the season.

The Rams had a ton of tough decisions to make, and among the cuts they made were defensive Brontae Harris, wide receiver Jeremiah Haydel, guard Jeremiah Kolone, guard Jordan Meredith, defensive back Donovan Olumba, defensive back Troy Warner, wide receiver Landen Akers, running back Otis Anderson, defensive tackle Eric Banks, tight end Kendall Blanton, tackle Chandler Brewer, defensive end Earnest Brown, defensive tackle Marquise Copeland, defensive back John Daka, defensive back Dont’e Deayon, defensive back Jake Gervase, defensive back Tyler Hall, wide receiver Trishton Jackson, linebacker Micah Kiser, wide receiver J.J. Koski, linebacker Justin Lawler, defensive back Kareem Orr, tackle Max Pircher and linebacker Christian Rozeboom.

Additionally, the Rams put running back Xavier Jones on the waived/injured list, which allows him to remain with the organization on IR if he’s not claimed by another team.

Perhaps the most notable names from that bunch are Kiser and Lawler, both of which have played valuable time at linebacker for the Rams the last couple of years. Jones is also notable as the 2021 fifth-rounder was the only Rams draft pick not to make the team.

Any player that the Rams cut with four years or less of experience will go on waivers. If unclaimed, then the Rams could potentially bring them back on the practice squad.

Noticeable absent from the list of cut players is quarterback Bryce Perkins, who made the team after an impressive preseason. Young players like wide receiver Ben Skowronek, tight end Brycen Hopkins, offensive lineman Alaric Jackson, outside linebacker Chris Garrett, safety J.R. Reed and safety JuJu Hughes also all made the team.

The Rams didn’t include either of their two punters on their initial 53-man roster, although that is because Johnny Hekker is still on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. He has made the team after restructuring his contract though, and because of that, Corey Bojorquez was traded to the Green Bay Packers along with a 2023 seventh-round draft pick in exchange for a 2023 sixth-rounder.
