The Los Angeles Rams announced they have claimed defensive lineman Larrell Murchison off waivers from the Tennessee Titans. The 25-year-old appeared in five games this season and accumulated two total tackles.
Murchison spent parts of three seasons with the Titans after being selected out of North Carolina State in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He logged 15 combined tackles and two tackles for loss in 26 games with the franchise (five starts).
Murchison’s arrival comes at a time in which the Rams are dealing with several injuries to their defensive line. A’Shawn Robinson is out for the remainder of the 2022 season, while Aaron Donald and Marquise Copeland are both week-to-week with respective high ankle sprains.
Aside from those injured players, the Rams’ defensive line currently consists of Greg Gaines, Bobby Brown III, Jonah Williams, Earnest Brown IV, T.J. Carter, Zach VanValkenburg and now Murchison.
Of those aforementioned names, only Gaines, Brown III, Williams and Murchison are on the active roster. If Donald and/or Copeland are unable to suit up against the Green Bay Packers in Week 15, Murchison could immediately play a big role on the defensive front.
