The Los Angeles Rams announced Monday morning that they have re-signed linebacker Bryce Hager, who sees most of his time as a member of the special teams unit. He also serves as reserve middle linebacker.
The Baylor alumnus was a seventh-round pick of the Rams in 2015. Since then he has been playing on his rookie contract which was set to expire in June. No details of the new contract have been released.
During his full four years at Baylor, Hager made it to a bowl game every year. During his senior year he led the Bears with 114 total tackles. He ended up with a career 322 total tackles and one interception.
Since his college years, Hager has steadily improved as a pro. Last year he posted 14 total tackles, nearly double his eight from the year prior. For the first time in his career, Hager led the special teams in snaps played. He has been in the top three of special teams snaps played every year of his professional career.
With most of free agency and the 2019 NFL Draft in the books, the Rams roster for the 2019 season is shaping up to be a very strong one once again.
