The Los Angeles Rams and Austin-based Nine Banded Whiskey announced a season-long partnership on Tuesday. The pact makes Nine Banded Whiskey the first-ever American whiskey partner for the Rams.

They are expected to offer a “1946” signature Whiskey & Lemonade cocktail at the Coliseum this upcoming season. This comes just a week after the Rams announced an official tequila partnership with Casa Mexico Tequila.

“As we enter our final season at the Coliseum, we are excited to team with Nine Banded Whiskey to enhance gamedays,” said LA Rams VP of Partnerships Jason Griffiths. “From the signature “1946” cocktail to working with local establishments across Southern California, Nine Banded Whiskey is introducing more ways for fans to celebrate Rams football all season long.”

The NFL recently softened its stance on alcohol companies partnering with teams, so many other organizations are expected to follow in the Rams suit moving forward.

Companies wanting to partner with the Rams makes sense considering they will be opening their brand new Inglewood stadium a year from now in 2020. Nine Banded Whiskey emphasized the importance of partnering with the Rams in their final year at the Coliseum though.

“Our partnership with the Los Angeles Rams is about honoring the Rams and their wonderful history at the LA Memorial Coliseum,” said Nine Banded Whiskey Co-founder and CEO Sean Foley. “It’s also about cheering on the Rams this season over a nice whiskey drink. We can’t be more excited to introduce Nine Banded Whiskey to LA Rams fans.”

The Rams also recently announced a partnership with American Airlines for the naming rights of the plaza at their new stadium. No one has obtained the naming rights for the actual stadium yet though.

Coming off a season in which they reached the Super Bowl, the Rams return a very strong roster in 2019 and are again expected to compete for the big prize.
