The Los Angeles Rams have high hopes going into the 2019 NFL season and know there is plenty of work to do before they can hope to get another shot at the Super Bowl.
The Rams experienced some turnover to key positions on both sides of the ball this offseason. They were able to get an ample look at some of their new faces through OTAs and mandatory minicamp.
Although Los Angeles was happy with the turnout at offseason workouts, they will undoubtedly be looking to kick things up a notch in training camp. It seems the Rams have finally revealed when fans will be able to get a firsthand look at the team.
They have announced there will be 7 open practices at the University of California, Irvine, via the team’s official website:
Saturday, July 27 – 4 p.m. – Kickoff Festival
Sunday, July 28 – 4 p.m. – Vamos Rams DayMonday, July 28 – 4 p.m. – Legends Reunion Day
Tuesday, July 30 – 4 p..m. – Youth Sports Day
Friday, August 2 – 2 p.m. – Everyday Heroes – Honoring Military Members, First Responders and their Families
Saturday, August 3 – 4 p.m. – Family Day
Sunday, August 4 – 2 p.m. – Training Camp Finale
They have used UCI as their base of operations for Training Camp ever since their relocation to Los Angeles. Although tickets are required for entry, all practices will be free and there will be added benefits for season ticket members and SSL Holders.
The Rams have quickly become one of the most high-profile teams in the league following their resurgence in recent years. While playing in Los Angeles provides the team with plenty of exposure, they were able to justify the hype they generated last offseason with a trip to Super Bowl LIII.
There is no question that Training Camp has become quite a spectacle for fans thanks to the newfound star power the team has garnered in recent years. There are very few squads in the NFL that boast the kind of notable roster talent the Rams do.
UCI will be flooded with the jerseys of familiar faces such as Jared Goff, Todd Gurley, and, most recently, Aaron Donald. However, fans will also be able to welcome a couple of homegrown talents such as Eric Weddle and Clay Matthews following their arrival via free agency.
Los Angeles is set to do plenty of traveling once Training Camp concludes and preseason begins with trips to visit the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys in Hawaii. Considering head coach Sean McVay’s track record with starters playing in the preseason, this may be the only time fans can see the first team get assimilated in person before the start of the 2019 campaign.
