The Los Angeles Rams announced that they have signed 14 undrafted free agents, including Wake Forest wide receiver Alex Bachman, Missouri tight end Kendall Blanton, Middle Tennessee guard Chandler Brewer, Houston tight end Romello Brooker, Texas State tight end Keenan Brown, Wake Forest running back Matthew Colburn, Cincinnati defensive tackle Marquise Copeland, Texas A&M linebacker Landis Durham, Villanova guard Brandon Hitner, Youngstown State center Vitas Hrynkiewicz, Georgia linebacker Natrez Patrick, Delaware linebacker Troy Reeder, Tarleton State defensive tackle Tyrell Thompson and Eastern Washington wide receiver Nsimba Webster.
The Rams addressed a lot of their team needs during the draft, but these undrafted free agents should all get a chance to compete for roster spots and practice squad spots during offseason workouts, training camp and the preseason.
Perhaps the most well-known of the group is Patrick, who had 160 total tackles playing for Georgia in the SEC the last four seasons. The Rams did not draft any linebackers, so he may have the most clear path to a roster spot of the group.
Offensive line is also a unit that needs reinforcements after the departures of Rodger Saffold and John Sullivan this offseason, so that bodes well for Brewer, Hitner and Hrynkiewicz.
Additionally, Los Angeles signed offensive lineman Jeremiah Kolone to its roster. Kolone is familiar with the Rams organization after being a part of the offseason roster last year, and then beginning the year on the Rams practice squad. He played in the Alliance of American Football league for the San Diego Fleet.
The Rams have less than $5 million in cap space remaining this offseason, so they likely will not be adding any more free agents to the organization. Because of that, all of the undrafted free agents should be extra motivated to perform this summer to show the front office and coaching staff that they are worthy of a roster spot.
