After an impressive start against the Houston Texans, rookie Matt McGloin was given another shot to show what he can do in Week 12 against the Tennessee Titans.

Although the rookie out of Penn State may have shown some flaws and failed to lead the Raiders to victory at home, McGloin will get the nod as the starter for a third straight game. Head coach Dennis Allen named McGloin the starter for the Thanksgiving Day showdown with the Dallas Cowboys according to Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com:

The Raiders won’t have a quarterback controversy this week. Head coach Dennis Allen said the Matt McGloin will start his third straight game on Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys.

With Terrelle Pryor potentially 100 percent heading into Week 13, the quarterback controversy was thought to be a serious topic of discussion once again following the loss to the Titans. Apparently, Allen didn’t want the controversy brewing on a short week in which the Raiders would have to go on the road to a face a hungry Cowboys squad battling for the NFC East division title.

The Raiders’ playoff chances took a severe hit with the loss to the Titans. Oakland may have been in the running for an AFC Wild Card spot with a win over Tennessee, but now will simply try to win as many of the remaining games as possible and hope for the best.

As for the Cowboys, every game from here on out will be crucial for Tony Romo and company with the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants still in the running for a division title. With that being said, the up-and-coming battle between these two teams will be a competitive to say the least with neither team willing to give up an inch.
